The current Android codebase includes a growing set of browser essentials. Features remain subject to device and WebView compatibility testing.
Multiple tabs with saved session state and restoration after process recreation or memory pressure.
Locally stored bookmarks and bounded browsing history for quick return to useful pages.
Android DownloadManager integration and website file-upload support.
Private browsing profile, HTTPS-focused handling and permission prompts for sensitive capabilities.
Find-in-page, share actions, desktop-site mode and selectable search providers.
User-triggered text snapshots for reading saved pages without a network connection.
Yehaw uses Android System WebView, a Chromium-based engine supplied and updated by the device. This keeps Yehaw from shipping its own full Chromium engine inside the APK. Actual memory use and site compatibility depend on the device, Android version and installed WebView provider.
The project is in active development. Automated Android build and emulator checks are being run; device testing, security review, release signing and a public distribution package are still required before launch.
